General
Our Meet & Greet consults are an opportunity for you and your young person to see our clinic spaces and learn more about how and if occupational therapy can support your young person.
Our Practice Manager will coordinate a time for you to attend one of our clinics and meet with a Senior Therapist, based on your availability. You will receive a short questionnaire and overview of our service prior to attending your consult. We encourage you to complete this so you can get the most out of your time with your Therapist.
Your consult will include a tour of our park spaces, an opportunity for your young person to engage in an activity supported by the Therapist, and a discussion around your concerns or questions and how these may be best supported.
You do not need a referral to attend our clinics, however young people are often referred to our service by a Paediatrician, Health Professional, or Educator.
You can complete our feedback and complaint form here. You may remain anonymous if you wish. If you would like to speak with someone in person, you can contact our Complaints Officer:

Funding
Yes, OTFC are a registered NDIS Provider. We are able to accept clients with funding allocated in the area of Capacity Building (CB Daily Activity). You can refer to our Schedule of Fees and Funding Options for further information relating to NDIS funding.
You can refer to our Schedule of Fees for a comprehensive breakdown of our service offerings. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team.
This is dependent on your level of cover. We recommend contacting your health fund prior to attending your appointment asking what your rebate will be. The health fund rebate codes are:
- OT Initial Consult: 100 (for an Assessment)
- OT Treatment (individual): 200 (for general OT sessions)
- OT Treatment (group): 300
There are numerous Government funds available if your young person fits the criteria. Depending on your young person’s developmental needs, your GP or Paediatrician usually suggests which funding you may be eligible to access. You can refer to our Schedule of Fees and Funding Options for further information relating to this.
Assessments & Therapy
In most cases, the Assessor will not be your young person’s treating therapist. OTFC have a team of exceptionally qualified Occupational Therapists, and your Assessor will ensure your young person is partnered with a suitable therapist to optimise therapeutic outcomes.
Our 70-minute session schedule comprises of:
- 55 minutes of direct clinical support, including transition in and out of therapy spaces and session overview with the caregiver
- 15 minutes of clinical documentation (non-face-to-face occurring in separate allocated time in the therapist's diary) which includes, but is not limited to, further case management and planning goal-directed therapy for future sessions
At the outset of therapy, some goals will be set by your therapist in collaboration with you. These goals will underpin the choices the therapist makes to focus on during each session. Depending on your young person’s needs, you may have between 5 and 20 weekly sessions, at which stage a break from OT is recommended. A break is needed to gauge how your young person performs without OT intervention and to monitor their progress. Decisions regarding further OT will be suggested by the OT if required, otherwise an appointment for a review will be suggested in 12 months’ time
Depending on the recommendations of the report and your young person’s treating therapist, a discussion will take place about the level of involvement you would like the OT to have with the Teacher/Employer.
