Assessments are an essential part of our process as they not only determine if OT intervention is required, but also help inform where challenges stem from so we can address these through a tailored therapy plan for better outcomes. Assessments also provide a baseline to measure your young person's progress.
The assessment process usually involves a one-hour intake (face-to-face or virtual with the caregiver), followed by one to two sessions in the clinic, using standardised assessment tools and clinical observations.
After the assessment, you will receive a tailored report with recommendations for next steps.
OTFC provide:
- Initial assessments (standardised or observational, depending on age, concerns, or diagnosis)
- Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs)
- Sensory Processing assessments
- Handwriting assessments
- School-based assessments
- Review assessments (for existing or former clients)
