Dino Mennillo is the Clinical Director at OTFC Group and has worked with children for over 20 years. He has a background in child and adolescent mental health and is internationally certified to practice in Ayres Sensory Integration® (assessment and treatment). Dino oversees assessment and treatment of all OTFC Group children and continues to practice as a clinician at OTFC along with training and supporting the OTFC clinical team.

Our culture has been carefully nurtured and developed over many years which is something we are very proud of and continue to evolve and move forward with. Our nimble approach ensures that the families we work with will always get the best and most up to date service, and experience the most modern and state of the art equipment the industry has to offer.

The structure and layout of each OTFC Group location enables our team to work collaboratively, dynamically and in doing so has met the challenges of providing a genuine, holistic and high-quality service.

OTFC Group has invested significantly into acquiring Occupational Therapists that complement the values of the practice. Our therapists show initiative and drive to challenge the direction of services offered and have exceptional personal skills to deliver to clients and their families.

Through intensive professional development training internally, complemented by various external opportunities, the therapists at OTFC Group are able to provide a level of service that ensures consistency in our therapy process.

We have several specialised extracurricular group programs, unique parent and teacher information sessions, an annual 3-day camp (CampEvolve) and have developed several specialised programs for selected schools.

OTFC Group has committed to providing ongoing field work placement for undergraduate and masters Occupational Therapy students from a number of Australian Universities valuing this mentoring relationship highly. We aim to provide Occupational therapy for children near you.

Qualifications

Occupational Therapist qualifications at OTFC Group

Our Occupational Therapists must complete either a 4-year undergraduate degree or 2-year master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised university in Australia.

Following completion of the degree each therapist must apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in order to be registered to work as an Occupational Therapist in any state. This is a necessity so that OTFC Group can provide Occupational therapy for children near you, no matter where you reside.

Whilst registration allows Occupational Therapists to provide services, they also must practice according to the guidelines set by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTA). Since the introduction of the National Accreditation and Registration Scheme (the National Scheme) on 1 July 2010, the advertising of regulated health services falls under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law and is enforced in each state and territory (the National Law).

In complying with the criteria for registration, Occupational Therapists must commit to engaging in continuing professional development. Each practicing therapist is required to complete 30 hours of continuing professional development per year in order to maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge, expertise and competence, and develop the personal and professional qualities required throughout their professional lives.

Whilst not essential, Therapists practicing in the area of paediatrics will engage in programs and training specific to working with children. All OTFC Group therapists are required to attend several internal training days as well as completing external courses and training offered across a variety of child-focused areas.

At OTFC Group our core treatment paradigm is  Ayres Sensory Integration® Therapy and all therapists are provided with regular opportunities to further their knowledge and skills in this approach. The full certification for ASI® Therapy takes 18 months and the OTFC Group supports all therapists to undergo this training ensuring the quality of the service delivery meets the ASI® fidelity measures.

In order for families to access Medicare rebates for Occupational Therapy via the Chronic Disease Management Plan or Better Access to Mental Health Plan, Occupational Therapists at the OTFC Group must satisfy a list of criteria outlined by services Australia:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of supervised practice as an Occupational Therapist working in mental health
  • Have a Medicare Australia provider number
  • Be a full (full-time or part-time) member of Occupational Therapy Australia
