Sensory play to support growing minds and bodies

The early months of life are a time of incredible growth and learning. Every sound, touch, movement, and visual experience helps your baby make sense of the world around them and build the foundations for future development.

Sensory Foundations is an Occupational Therapist-led group designed for babies aged 0-9 months and their caregivers. Over 6-weeks of play-based activities, you’ll learn how to effectively support your baby’s sensory development and emerging developmental milestones.

Why Sensory Development Matters

Sensory experiences help babies learn how their bodies work, how to engage with their environment, and how to develop important skills for movement, learning, and regulation.

Through exposure to a variety of sensory experiences, babies begin developing skills such as:

  • Visual tracking and attention
  • Reaching and grasping
  • Body awareness
  • Rolling and movement exploration
  • Early regulation, coregulation and calming strategies
  • Social engagement, connection and development of attachment
  • Foundations for future milestones such as crawling and walking

Our sessions are designed to nurture these early foundations through fun, age-appropriate activities that you can easily continue at home.
